Richard Hahn

Richard is an accomplished operations and technology executive. Over a 30-year career he has established a reputation as skilled leader in Project & Program Management, Continual Improvement/Organizational Excellence (Six Sigma), Budgeting & Forecasting, and IT Service Management Implementation (ITIL).  His capabilities have taken him to Boeing, Lockheed Martin, XO Communications and Marriott International, as well as being a key contributor in several startup companies. 

Richard’s accomplishments include:


  • A key team member at Boeing Helicopters that transformed the Operations staff from a one-year to a ten-year planning horizon, while reducing overlapping projects by 40% and saving $12M
  • Becoming a Consulting Chief Engineer with Lockheed Martin to restore troubled projects to on-schedule and on-budget status, and revamp IT support services.
  • At XO Communications, Richard built a world-class web development organization from the ground up, which delivered multi-million dollar projects on time and on budget.  Additionally, he established a PMO organization for IT Operations, which consolidated management of 40 Operations projects and reduced capital expenditures by $8M.
  • At EagleForce Associates he managed high profile projects for TSA and DIA
  • He rescued a failing multi-million dollar service management program for Marriott International and turned it into a world-class, business critical, ITIL service catalog and automated service request workflow.


Richard earned a BS in Operations Management from Penn State and a Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering from George Washington University.  He is PMP and ITIL certified, has completed graduate work in Space Operations through USC and Industrial Engineering at Penn State, and is involved in Temple University’s Fox School of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship program.  Richard’s world-class experience in Project and Program Management bring great capabilities to Barbican Systems.
